PBF in Nigeria is financed through the Nigerian State Health Investment Project, a $150M World Bank loan to the Federal Government of Nigeria. Three States, Adamawa, Nasarawa and Ondo States are targeted. The project also benefits from a $20M grant from the Health Results Innovation Trust fund, in addition to resources for a rigorous impact evaluation. The implementing agencies are the NHPCDA, the three SPHCDAs and the Federal Ministry of Health.
